China Rising to New Heights In Modern Age of Growth and Prosperity

"An article to ponder"

Great achievements
Rising living standards

In the early years of the People’s Republic, per-capita national income was a mere $10 to $20, the same as the level of the Western developed countries in the mid-18th century. From 1949 to 1978, Chinese people’s livelihoods gradually improved along with economic development. In 1978, per-capita national income rose to $190. After China adopted the policy of reform and opening up in 1978, its national economy secured steady and fast growth, leading to rapid improvement in people’s living standards. In 2008, the country’s per-capita gross domestic product (GDP) soared to around $2,500, making China a lower middle-income nation.
The more than 30 years after the reform and opening-up policy was implemented has been a period of progressive growth, when citizens enjoyed the fastest increase of income and benefits. Per-capita disposable income of urban residents jumped from 343 yuan ($50) in 1978 to 15,781 yuan ($2,310) in 2008. The per-capita net income of farmers grew to 4,761 yuan ($697) in 2008 from 134 yuan ($19) in 1978. The per-capita housing space and household wealth have also witnessed a significant growth with remarkable improvements in living conditions. The shortage of goods that plagued the country before the launch of the reform and opening-up has finally been resolved.
The Engel Coefficient—the proportion of income spent on food—of rural households dropped to 43.1 percent in 2007 from as high as 67.7 percent in 1978. The Engel Coefficient of urban households fell to 36.3 percent in 2007 from 57.5 percent in 1978. The proportion of money spent on culture, education, entertainment and services per capita in rural and urban households rose to 9.5 percent and 13.3 percent, respectively, in 2007 and went up from 5.1 percent and 8.4 percent respectively in 1980.

It is YOU that care, Pak Tani

This is an old story.

Sometime back, during my really hard time struggling to live and stay
alive among KL city folks, there was one phrase that I kept to myself.
" Either be killed or you killed".It sound really bad though, but mind
and mental psychology played important part to boost your confident
level to go on.

That is to show how hard the life can be at one point of our life cycle.
Yes, in the 80's when there was an economic slowdown, so many
jobless people, limited resources and everybody need job to support
a living. People had no buying power and less money. Even roti canai
only cost you 25 cent to compare 80 cent today. Breakfast costs you
only 90 cent for 2 pcs "flying bread" and "teh tarik". But many people
could not afford to pay. By then, many Uniphone workers still owe
me their debt in 555 book as well as "L" constables. In that days,
there was a morning convoys of police on bikes and land rovers
doing the driving training. They would stop by for a break at our stall
and at least it help our business going. But for how long?
How to roll your daily business if people eat and many did not pay?.

Yes, to survive, it will depend on your own creativity to get an income.

Many things that you can do, a dish washer at mamak stall, a burger seller,
open a "pisang goreng" stall, or selling roti canai by the roadside, you
name it I had become one. During Ramadhan when I got nothing
to do as most business were closed, then National Mosque was a life
saver where you could get a free meal once a day in the evening.

I even applied for a PSV licence to become a taxi driver. Finally
I managed to get a job as a lorry driver at Old Klang road with
RM 450 a month. It was last until the economy came back to normal.
May be my journey is not as lucky as you are.
Just to note that out there there are many more people which are
worst than us striving everyday to get food. But then to be among
success people, you must follow their foot step. Millionaires footstep.
"Bergerak biar ke depan bukan ke belakang"

Moral of the story.
It is you that care, Pak Tani. It depend on you to help yourself.
People will only see you from a far and judge you whether you
are a loser or a winner.

So you need to put a grip in your mind that if you want to
be a winner then work hard. It does not matter even it take
5 to 10 years to succeed.

Sumbangan MADA Pendang

Salam sejahtera warga tani,

jasa baik pegawainya En.Hamzah.Pihak MADA menghantar sumbangan

tahun ni atau awal 2010, kami nak "up" kan sikit trottle kearah pecutan

Aku amik MC ujung minggu lepas. Nak dengar bajet laa...
Pak Tani pakai MC sendiri aje tak payah jumpa doktor.
Petang tu bendi aku pun tak siram, itik aku pun posa,

masa renew roadtax moto.

Lagi pun masa aku terbaca minggu sebelum tu, memangnya
gomen banyak duit. Se batang pokok pinang pun depa boleh
bayar sampai RM480. Satu laptop pun boleh beli puluhan ribu.
Tahun lepas pun sama gak, sebatang spana pun bepuluh ringgit
reganya.

Menjana ekonomi....
Klinik 1Malaysia, PTPTN jadi biasiswa, TEKUN 20juta untuk
orang India, tingkatkan pendapatan rakyat, 48juta basmi kemiskinan
tapi kat WP aje,
dan bla-bla.....

Last sekali, satu sen pun aku tak dapat. Hangpa baca ringkasan
dari link kat bawah ni:-

Kesian lah kat Pak Tani sama.
Kami pun rakyat Malaysia jugak, mesti didahulukan.

kolam mini buatan sendiri.

Baja tahi ayam masih belum sampai.

Msia political parties in a hot soup, MCA, UMNO, MIC and PAS

The unfolded events in the last few days here,
was a good indication to see how far and how hot the
situation in every political parties here.
For those who are ignorant or how naive they are toward politics,
one is able to gauge from these dramas. The outcome is not
a business as usual as reported in the media and bulletins.

We take a look at every event in each party:-

1. MCA - Malaysian Chinese Association (not a malay word)
Saturday was an EGM for this party for delegates to vote due to
power struggle between Mr.President and the Deputy.
The result as every body knows, both were thrown out.
And now MCA is running like a goose without a head.
This case is happens many times since the early history of MCA.
Shortly before this, was a power struggle between Team A and Team B
during Liong Sik and Lim Ah Lek.

2. UMNO - United Malay National Organisation (not a malay word)
Last night was a joy evening for members of this party especially
for all the big heads. Former MB of N9 state Md Isa won with big
majority of 5K plus.Good choice for Bagan Pinang folks but is it good
for all Malaysians?
Malaysians should reverse back back a while to see how fast people
tend to forget. Md Isa was found guilty by his party during campaigning
for Vice President post of money politic. Meaning that he is not clean
and was buying votes before.
But now, he is on his track again climbing up the UMNO ladder.
Who knows one day he will be a big guy as Malaysians top leader.
Much bigger than his size. People say "old habit die hard".
It is a sad episode for UMNO and Malaysians as well.

3. MIC - Malaysian Indian Congress (not a malay word)
Malaysian prime Minister, Najib Razak was seen launching
a new Indian party last night, Makkal Sakti.
Rumous is ongoing that this party will be an alternative to or may be
will replace an old Indian party, MIC. Deputy President Mr.
Palanivel got an endorsement from Samy Vellu who is the longest party
President of Malaysian history and win the post on silver platter. He said
MIC is the only Indian party which serve the Indian community since
achieving Merdeka day. And Indians should not forget this.
But nowadays people did not look at the party as a whole. People see who
is running the party and mostly has become fed up with old horses which
is almost impossible to be replaced. They run the party like their own family
instead of for Malaysians in general. Yes, this happens to most Malaysian
political parties even in UMNO itself.

4. PAS - Parti Islam Se-Malaysia ( the malay word)
After been through so many by-elections with a record of big winner,
last night this party lost the battle in Bagan Pinang.
Being a moderate party with a very limited resources and fund, PAS
managed to grab 2,578 votes versus 8,013 for BN.
It is good to clear out the some ego and reduce the erogant level among
PAS supporters.
There are many theories and commentaries from this result
depend on which side its come from. For sure most political
activists appeared on TV inclined to government of the day.
They wants to be a celebrity similar to other top Malaysian leaders.

But as a Malaysian, we must listen to all views.
Then, voice out the opinion for good to all of us.

For now at least Malaysian voters have a balance parties to choose from.
Be it from Barisan Nasional party (UMNO, MCA, MIC, etc) or Pakatan Rakyat
(PAS, PKR, DAP). Then we need to choose the one that will open our eyes
and mind to be more progressive in term of physical well being, spirituality,
matured mentality, knowledge based community and to cater for our children
prosperity and safe journey.

Our future is depend on how good our politicians are in managing
our country. And our politicians in depend on us and how good
we choose them. If we are among the idiots, then we have all idiots
politicians running our country backward.

(The funny thing is most of Malaysian political organization does not carry
a malay word. How can they claimed that they represent Malaysian community.
Even the one that claimed they struggle for Malays does not carry a Malay word.
Yes, Malaysian political parties are based on race.
It is far from being a Malaysian.)

Anak Bendi selepas dua minggu

dua minggu. Semaian diletakkan dalam tanah biasa
dan tidak menggunakan tray yang mengandungi
Holland Peat. Ianya lebih mudah tetapi proses
pemindahan menjadi agak rumit kerana kedudukan

Big Lizards in Cili Pendang

Last week we were putting some medicine to
avoid big lizards from entering Cili Pendang
compound.
Many of them inhabit in the pool next to our farm,
bordering from padi field. They like to stay here due to
isolated place with porous ground and water. Lots of
fish such as "haruan, keli, sepat" and talapia which
growing here become their easy pray.

This step (to reduce the lizards) is taken to ensure the
safety of our ducks. It would be easy for us to keep
the lizard away in daylight as we are able to see them coming.
But during night time, many thing will happen even if we put
proper fencing and keep our ducks inside closed house.

Few days after, we saw 4 big lizards lying at the end
corner of our farm. Three of them, size as big as
banana tree were put to sleep. We buried them away
to keep from other animals or python.

Yesterday as we were clearing the bush and burnt
some dried old tree, there was an awful smell coming
from north wind. After we searched around, again
there was one bid lizard in the padi field next to our
farm. It was quite similar to Komodo, the one that
shown in NatGeo TV channel.

Now we feel a bit safer and at least not to worry
much during our night sleep. It is not easy to keep
our farm from hazardous animals as it is surrounded
by other bushes and small little jungle.

Our hope, the duckling sound will sing happily in
Cili Pendang.

Itik semakin membesar - Minggu kedua

Setakat ni dah masuk minggu kedua ternakan itik kami.
Proses tumbesaran berjalan agak baik dan setengahnya
dah mencapai berat setengah kilo.

Anak itik Muscovy membesar lebih cepat berbanding
dengan Khaki Campbell. Kami tak pasti yang baka
Khaki Campblell ni dah berapa kali melalui proses
kacukan.

Mungkin
pertumbuhan bendi lebih cepat dari cili.
